Position: 3rd Class Mechanical Fitter
Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly
Reports To: Area Manager
Location: Jacksonville, FL

What You Will Be Doing
This role requires a foundational understanding of mechanical equipment and industrial piping installation. The individual should be able to read blueprints, interpret job specifications, perform measurements, and help construct a complete and functional piping system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand job specifications, blueprints, and torque requirements for industrial piping.
- Apply basic mechanical knowledge in equipment and piping alignment, installation, and measurement.
- Install valves, pumps, chillers, regulators, tanks, and other components to build a complete system.
- Identify and install piping supports, hangers, and braces.
- Operate cranes and forklifts safely using proper rigging practices.
- Supervise and guide helpers to ensure efficient and safe work execution.
- Maintain quality documentation per SEA Quality Standards.
- Follow safety, health, and company policies and be medically qualified to wear PPE.
- Perform basic pneumatic and hydrostatic testing procedures (up to 150 psi).
- Participate in training, inspections, and audits (including ISO 9001).
What We’re Looking For
Must Have's:
- 1+ Years’ related experience in Welding SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and GTAW, or a combination thereof
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions (e.g., confined areas, heights)
- Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be authorized to work in the USA
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years vocational technical training
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook

What Hours You Will Work
This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Work Conditions
This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and
reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
