Account Director MEP Commissioning Management - London - to £110k plus package
We are urgently searching for 3 Account Directors with solid Data Centre and MEP Commissioning experience.
Primary Objective
The primary objective of the Account Director - Commissioning is to see that the processes involved in the commissioning of engineering services systems have been diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, recorded and reported to our client. To maintain extensive day to day contact with the client senior team including Project Managers, local and Regional Commissioning Managers, providing status updates as required – at least on a weekly basis.
In the role of Account Director, we'll count on you to:
Seeing that our commitments to our clients are delivered on time, to requisite levels of detail and quality.
Acting as a key point of client contact
Actively promote our services within the account
Providing proposals for new projects in line with agreed pricing model
Making full use of the company’s management systems in achieving the primary objective.
To take responsibility for project related safety
Encourage project engineers to achieve a high level of performance.
Report any performance problems to line manager
Review on a monthly basis the Project Job Costing Reports with the project engineering team.
Provide supporting information to inform the monthly board reporting process
Providing consultative advice in determining Quality and Commissioning and performance requirements, commissioning strategies, programmes, scopes of work and the like.
Manging a team of our engineers and/or managers, including undertaking personnel functions such as recruitment interviews and performance reviews in association with the Divisional Director or Director.
Keeping the account team abreast of developments and project opportunities with the account and wider business.
Additionally, at all times:
Engaging with other members of the Company to help improve existing systems and procedures
Talking the role of Champion in an area of specific technical interest
To promote the company and the wider group through marketing activities
Key Responsibilities

To ensure technical compliance and high-quality production of our deliverables.
To work closely as part of the client’s team in developing Quality and Commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives.
To fully adopt the Company’s project and internal management systems to see that the building services are fully commissioned in accordance with the contract documentation.
To maintain an accurate awareness of project finances and control expenditure thereof.
To attend project meetings as required.
To attend and contribute to Cx summits as required
To prepare reports that include technical content and progress/key issue detail. Alternatively, to sign off/authorise for publication similar documentation authored by other members of the commissioning team.
To develop project specific commissioning management/validation documents and procedures.
To be aware and report internally on project scope change.
To work with other members of a professional team in evaluating progress, difficulties and costs.
To assist in the development of tender submissions within the account and other potential clients as requested
To accurately complete timesheets on a weekly basis.
To pro-actively support other members of staff in undertaking their work.
Profile
Candidates will be experienced Building Services Engineers with a particular interest and/or skill set in commissioning. This could be either by direct experience of setting systems to work, or by managing the process in working for a contractor or competitor. Candidates will be expected to have a high level of technical competence in one or more of the following areas:
Control engineering
Fire engineering
Mechanical system
HV distribution
HVAC balancing
LV distribution
Refrigeration
QA Management
Sustainability
Stand-by power
UPS
Qualifications
4 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts from design through project completion
Should have a passion for sustainability and knowledge of the commissioning process and experience with design, installation and operation of building systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and controls)
Must be willing to travel within UK and abroad regularly and potentially for extended durations to meet the needs of the projects
Must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot HVAC, TAB, and Controls and have excellent report writing skills
Must have a solid understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections and maintenance considerations
Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people at all levels
Technical knowledge of MEP systems and HVAC expertise
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Multitasking ability
Valid driver's license
Professional qualifications are a benefit but not a prerequisite. Experience (technical and managerial), tact, diplomacy and good organisational skills are considered essential. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
10 years related experience
A minimum 5 years project management experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license
MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
