Position Overview
Coover | Goss is seeking an Account Manager to own day-to-day execution across client engagements and ensure that strategies are translated into clear, coordinated action. This role sits at the center of our client work and is responsible for operationalizing engagement strategies, managing deliverables, and keeping projects moving forward across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of complex, multi-step processes. This is a builder/operator role for someone who thrives on turning plans into execution.
This role is expected to take ownership of execution and move work forward without requiring steady direction from firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Execution and Project Management
· Own execution of client workstreams, ensuring all deliverables move forward on time and at a high level of quality
· Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and action trackers across multiple engagements
· Proactively identify gaps, bottlenecks, or risks and drive resolution
· Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and follow-through
· Serve as the central point of accountability for ongoing project execution
Client Delivery
· Draft and manage production of client-facing materials (briefings, updates, memos)
· Ensure deliverables are organized, complete, and ready for client review
· Prepare meeting materials and track follow-ups
· Maintain clear visibility into project status, deadlines, and outstanding items
Campaign and Engagement Execution
· Translate engagement strategies into detailed execution plans
· Build and manage content and deliverable pipelines
· Coordinate development and approval of collateral across stakeholders
· Support execution of public meetings, hearings, and engagement efforts
Research and Insight
· Conduct targeted research to support ongoing workstreams
· Synthesize findings into clear, actionable inputs
Field and Coordination Support
· Support on-the-ground execution when needed
· Capture and integrate field insights into project execution
Firm Operations
· Build and improve repeatable systems, templates, and workflows
· Support proposal development and internal coordination
Qualifications
· 5–8 years of experience in public affairs, consulting, account management, or related roles
· Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-step projects with minimal oversight
· Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
· High level of organization and attention to detail
· Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
· Professional judgment and maturity in client-facing settings
· Willingness to travel across Texas as needed
Experience
· Background in energy, infrastructure, or economic development
· Agency or consulting experience
· Experience working with local government or community stakeholders
· Experience contributing to engagement plans or campaign execution
