Bright Sky Environmental is an environmental consulting firm that is dedicated to the energy industry. Founded in 2018, we are searching for a seasoned Air Permitting Manager to help lead projects, manage client relationships, mentor our amazing junior staff, and work alongside the company president to grow the business. Role Description
We are seeking candidates who are heavily focused on air permitting and compliance. We are focused on oil and gas, energy, off-grid Bitcoin mining, and AI data center development; however, we want to grow and are open to hiring a senior person with other industrial expertise. The candidate must be based in Texas - this is a hybrid-remote role supporting our Austin, TX office. Small team hires (1-3 people) will be considered if you don't want to leave your team behind!
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
- Provide technical and quality assurance (QA/QC) support for air permitting and compliance projects
- Support all aspects of project management for existing projects – budgeting, planning, team leadership, and interaction with our awesome clients
- Seller-doer mentality with goal to bring new client relationships to the company. You are in charge of your own destiny here, with no harsh utilization/billability requirements
- Immediate leadership position within the company
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science plus 6 years of relevant and proven experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education focused on air quality compliance data. Please do not apply for this job if you have no air permitting experience.
- B.S. in Chemical, Environmental, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university
- Valid U.S. Driver's license
- Must reside in Texas - non-negotiable
- Entrepreneurial mentality
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer, PE
- 6+ years of science experience focused on air quality compliance
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Air Act
- Prior consulting experience with a willingness to sell projects
- Austin, TX location

- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is ~ $130,000+ plus project commissions.
