Craftsmen Contractors is hiring experienced Paint Techs, Auto Body Painters & Assembly Technicians for the Minden, La. area. Assembly Techs must have some carpentry experience and Paint Techs must have some industrial painting/spray gun experience. The project consists of helping construct data centers for call centers and helping paint metal structures and telecommunication skids. Work schedule: day shifts Monday thru Friday and sometimes every other Saturday. Needing workers who have some carpentry experience/background - at least 1 year. No per diem is offered.

Assembly Tech starting pay rate is $15.40 - $21.45/hr. depending on experience.

Assembly Tech Job Duties:

• Assist in reading blueprints to determine placement of carpentry components in building.
• Assist in cutting wall paneling and other carpentry components with various saws.
• Apply glue to plywood for wall installs and per floor specifications.
• Install various other wall and ceiling paneling with glues and fasteners using hand and power tools
• Hang molding and related trim materials to interior of building with fasteners and hand or power tools.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by crew leader or supervisor.
• Ensure that work area and buildings are clean and free of debris.

Assembly Tech Job Requirements:

• Work from a ladder and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel to apply paneling and to work overhead.
• Have experience using various hand and power tools.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. when moving materials on the job.
• Clear vision and ability to determine and distinguish .
• Read blueprints and read a tape measure.
• Communicate effectively, have good judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, comprehend and assimilate information.
• Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships and interact effectively with all levels of employees.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of carpentry experience required.
• Will need to pass a criminal background check , drug screen and must do a face to face interview before being hired.

Starting pay rate for Paint Techs & Auto Body Painters: $13 - $28.60

Paint Tech & Auto Body Painter Job Duties:

• Paint large metal buildings, doors, and metal parts, consistently and accurately without dry streaks / runs, or sags with airless sprayer / HVLP.
• Spray gun painting
• Sand, prep and clean all materials that require painting.
• Mix paints as per specifications.
• Repair any damages to materials prior to painting with bondo/JB weld
• Perform other duties as required by job order or assigned by crew leader.
• Basic cleaning duties.

Paint Tech & Auto Body Painter Job Requirements:

• Demonstrate the ability to select the proper application method for the paint and the surface to be painted.
• Need to be skilled in the application of all types of paint using brush, roller, cup spray guns, pressure pot spray equipment, airless spray equipment and be able to fully use, clean and maintain all paint equipment.
• Able to stand on concrete 100% of the time, often 10 hours a day.
• Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, holding arms at shoulder height for an extended period of time.
• Uses both hands to lift, place and manipulate material
• Ability to lift long and awkward parts weighing up to 50 lbs. repeatedly during the day.
• Mechanical aptitude
• High school diploma or GED
• Pass a phone interview
• Have to do a face to face interview prior to being hired.
• Reliable transportation to get to work.
• Will need to pass a criminal background check and drug screen and must do a face to face interview before being hired.
