Assistant Construction Superintendent
The Opportunity
Client is seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Superintendent to help lead the successful execution of large-scale commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on construction leader who knows how to build and loves to build. You will work closely with project leadership, trade partners, craft employees, clients, and vendors to coordinate field operations and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has strong field leadership experience across multiple construction disciplines and is comfortable working in fast-paced, complex environments.
Location & Travel
This position is nationwide. Candidates may be based anywhere in the United States but must be highly willing and able to travel to client project sites on a long-term basis.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Field Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day construction activities.
- Determine appropriate construction methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and sequencing.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
- Support project planning from mobilization through completion.
Team & Trade Leadership
- Coordinate activities among multiple crafts, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
- Provide field leadership to trade groups such as electricians, boilermakers, carpenters, and other skilled craft personnel.
- Coordinate work across civil, structural, electrical, MEP, and other construction disciplines.
- Supervise, motivate, mentor, and develop field personnel.
- Maintain effective communication with union representatives and trade partners.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project.
- Monitor compliance with project safety programs and procedures.
- Identify hazards, document corrective actions, and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
- Reinforce safe work practices and hold teams accountable to established standards.
Resource & Schedule Management
- Monitor labor, materials, equipment, inspections, and other resources required to maintain project schedules.
- Identify schedule risks and coordinate corrective actions.
- Assist with construction scheduling, sequencing, and cost control.
- Track project progress and communicate potential delays or constraints to project leadership.
Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, executives, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and provide accurate updates on field progress, risks, and challenges.
- Help resolve construction issues and maintain alignment among project stakeholders.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure construction activities meet project specifications, drawings, codes, and quality requirements.
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate timely resolution.
- Support inspections, commissioning activities, and project closeout.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve construction processes, productivity, safety, and project outcomes.
- Leverage innovative construction technologies, methodologies, and best practices to improve field execution.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in commercial, industrial, advanced manufacturing, data center, or similar facility construction.
- Demonstrated experience working on commercial or industrial projects valued at $15M or more.
- Experience with multiple construction disciplines, including:

- MEP
- Concrete
- Structural steel
- Underground utilities
- Fire alarm systems
- Building finishes
- Building envelope/enclosure systems
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
- Experience leading subcontractors, craft personnel, and multidisciplinary field teams.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Valid U.S. passport.
- Willingness and ability to travel 70%+ for extended project assignments.
Qualifications
- Data center, hyperscale, mission-critical, or advanced manufacturing construction experience.
- Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Experience with complex, fast-track construction projects.
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and mentor cross-functional teams.
- Strong record of maintaining high safety standards and delivering quality results.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating construction and project risks.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
