About the Role

The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures accuracy in financial data, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate has strong cost accounting experience, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to lead and develop accounting staff.

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Close Process

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to support decision-making

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support

  • Oversee cost accounting functions including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
  • Partner with operations to monitor production costs, labor efficiencies, and material usage
  • Ensure accuracy of bill of materials (BOMs) and routing in ERP systems

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits (internal and external), including documentation and process improvement
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Provide training and guidance on accounting procedures and systems
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support ERP system optimization and financial system upgrades
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
