Assistant M&E Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team, supporting the delivery of high-profile projects across London and the surrounding areas.\n\nThis role offers a fantastic opportunity for career development, providing exposure to flagship schemes across commercial office, data centre, mission critical, and mixed-use fit-out sectors. You will work closely with experienced senior professionals, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the project lifecycle.\n\nWith structured support and mentorship, this position offers a clear pathway into senior commercial roles within a dynamic and expanding business.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Assist in the commercial management of M&E packages across multiple projects\n\n * \n\n Support the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation\n\n * \n\n Assist with procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages\n\n * \n\n Help manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations and variations\n\n * \n\n Monitor project costs and support financial reporting and forecasting\n\n * \n\n Assist in the preparation and agreement of interim applications and final accounts\n\n * \n\n Review subcontractor applications and ensure accuracy and compliance\n\n * \n\n Support the management of change control and variation processes\n\n * \n\n Work closely with project managers and site teams to track progress and costs\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation\n\nKey Requirements\n\n * \n\n Degree or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services, or similar\n\n * \n\n Some experience or placement within M&E, construction, or building services ()\n\n * \n\n Strong numerical and analytical skills\n\n * \n\n Good understanding of construction and commercial principles\n\n * \n\n Eagerness to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment\n\n * \n\n Strong communication and interpersonal skills\n\n * \n\n Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard software\n\nDesirable\n\n * \n\n Previous experience in M&E or building services projects\n\n * \n\n Familiarity with commercial office or fit-out projects\n\n * \n\n Understanding of NEC or JCT forms of contract\n\n * \n\n Working towards professional accreditation (e.g. RICS or similar via Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n Clear and structured career progression into Senior Quantity Surveyor roles\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work on flagship projects across London\n\n * \n\n Exposure to complex, high-value schemes (£5m–£30m)\n\n * \n\n Ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development support\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n * \n\n Collaborative and supportive team environment\n\nIf you want, I can also make this more junior (grad level) or toughen it up for candidates with 2–3 years’ experience depending on who you're targeting
