Assistant Project Manager (APM) – Data Center Construction

Location: Colorado City, TX

Compensation: $80,000 annual salary (exempt) or equivalent to $40/hour

Per Diem: $125/ day for non-local qualifying personnel

Employment Type: Contract

Overview

PTS Advance is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support a large-scale data center construction project in Colorado City, TX. This position offers hands-on experience in project coordination and management, with opportunities to grow into a full Project Manager role. The APM will help ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in managing day-to-day project activities and field operations.
  • Monitor budgets, track costs, and ensure project milestones are being met.
  • Serve as a point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to keep work on schedule.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, reports, and cost tracking records.
  • Support procurement, contract administration, and processing of change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on progress, potential risks, and resource needs.
  • Help coordinate project schedules, resources, and logistics to optimize workflow.
  • Assist with tracking performance metrics, project progress, and overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction project coordination, assistant project management, or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, project documentation, and scheduling best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (MS Project, Procore, or equivalent).
  • Ability to work onsite in Colorado City, TX, and travel as required to support field operations.
