Job Type: Full Time

Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the construction of a high-performance hyperscale data center campus. The APM will work closely with the project management and field operations teams to coordinate daily construction activities, maintain documentation, support subcontractor execution, and ensure that project goals related to schedule, safety, and quality are consistently met. This individual must be a flexible and adaptable team player with strong communication and client service skills. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience on technically complex, fast-paced industrial projects with direct exposure to mission-critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and fiber systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project team in coordinating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for data center infrastructure.
  • Maintain and track project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and logs.
  • Review project contract documents, specifications, and drawings, especially for MEP and low-voltage systems.
  • Help monitor project schedules and budgets, flagging potential issues and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Interface with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to support project execution and resolve field-level challenges.
  • Participate in site walks, quality inspections, and safety audits to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Ensure work is completed to quality standards and contract specifications, particularly for critical path scopes such as duct banks, chilled water systems, and electrical yard tie-ins.
  • Support material tracking, equipment deliveries, and subcontractor coordination—especially for power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
  • Assist with document control and project management software (e.g., ProjectSight, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel).
  • Help facilitate commissioning and close-out documentation, ensuring systems meet operational readiness and client turnover requirements.
  • Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles.
  • Follow Yates Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, ideally with exposure to data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with basic construction processes, documentation workflows, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable reading plans and specs and learning technical terminology related to HVAC, electrical distribution, and fiber systems.
  • High proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ProjectSight or similar platform is a plus.
  • Basic math/accounting skills.
  • Functions effectively as part of a team.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a team environment.
