About the Opportunity
A highly respected Chicago-based general contractor is launching a dedicated Mission Critical division and is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the team during its early growth phase.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to Mission Critical and highly MEP-intensive projects while working on local Chicago and Illinois projects. You’ll support senior project leadership and gain hands-on experience within a division being built from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents in the execution of Mission Critical projects
- Assist with project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and change management
- Help track project schedules, budgets, and cost reports
- Coordinate with trade partners, vendors, and consultants
- Participate in owner and subcontractor meetings
- Support commissioning, closeout, and turnover activities
Ideal Background
- 2–5 years of experience in construction project management or project engineering
- Experience with a general contractor
- Exposure to MEP-intensive, healthcare, industrial, or technical projects a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in building a long-term career in Mission Critical construction
Location & Travel
- Chicago, IL
- Local projects throughout Chicagoland and Illinois
- No extensive travel required
