Assistant Quantity Surveyor\nLocation: Newcastle\nSalary: £60,000 - £70,000\nSector: Data Centres | Mission-Critical Construction\nType: Permanent | Site-Based\n\nA leading specialist contractor delivering large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects across the UK is expanding its commercial team and is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support major live projects.\n\nThis organisation is known for repeat delivery to blue-chip technology clients, strong commercial governance, and structured career progression from junior to senior commercial leadership.\n\nYou will support the commercial management of a major data centre project, gaining exposure to cost control, subcontractor management, and commercial reporting on a fast-paced, high-value build.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Assist with cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting\n\n * Support procurement and subcontractor package management\n\n * Assist in the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\n * Maintain accurate commercial records and cost reports\n\n * Work closely with site and project teams to support commercial delivery\n\n * Develop strong knowledge of data centre construction and commercial processes\n\nRequirements\n\n * Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management\n\n * 1–4 years’ experience in construction or engineering environments\n\n * Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills\n\n * Ambition to progress within a commercial career path\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Long-term data centre project pipeline\n\n * Structured progression to QS and Senior QS level\n\n * Exposure to complex, high-value projects\n\n * Supportive commercial team and mentoring environment
