Our client, a leading UK consultancy with expertise across the construction and engineering sectors, is expanding their Manchester team and seeking an Electrical Associate Director to lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team on technically challenging data centre projects.

This is a senior leadership role, ideal for a proven Electrical Engineer with strong data centre experience, who wants to take full accountability for the performance, growth, and strategic direction of the electrical function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of electrical engineers, ensuring technical excellence and high performance.
  • Drive the delivery of complex data centre projects, managing design, technical, and contract-related challenges.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the Manchester office.
  • Oversee financial performance, including profit, cash flow, and project delivery.
  • Promote a culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence across the team.
  • Provide mentorship, appraisals, feedback, and professional development support to senior and mid-level engineers.
  • Procure and negotiate significant contracts with clients and suppliers.
  • Champion integrity, , and collaboration within the office and across projects.

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Recognised as an expert within the data centre sector, ideally with hands-on experience on large-scale, technically complex projects.
  • Proven track record in leading successful, dynamic teams in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Strong technical capability and critical thinking in electrical engineering for mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience in managing escalated project challenges and delivering practical, client-focused solutions.
  • Leadership qualities that demonstrate integrity, fairness, and respect, promoting an inclusive workplace culture.
