Position Overview:
A leading banking industry company in New York is seeking a Bilingual IT Project Manager to support IT infrastructure projects and collaborate with stakeholders both in the U.S. and Japan. This role requires 5-10 years of IT project management experience, with some exposure to IT infrastructure projects. Approximately 30-50% of the work will involve coordination with the client’s head office in Japan, making fluency in both English and Japanese essential. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing cross-border projects in a dynamic environment.  

What will you do:

  • Project Management: Lead and support IT infrastructure projects, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion.  
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a bridge between U.S. and Japan-based teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.  
  • Bilingual Communication: Translate technical and business requirements between English and Japanese-speaking teams.  
  • Timeline & Budget Management: Ensure projects stay within budget and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.  
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure IT projects align with banking industry regulations and security requirements.  
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear project documentation in both English and Japanese.  
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.  
  • Vendor & Partner Engagement: Coordinate with external vendors and IT service providers as needed.  

Required Qualifications & Skills:    

  • Fluency in both English and Japanese (spoken and written).  
  • 5-10 years of IT project management experience, preferably in financial services or banking.  
  • Experience in IT infrastructure projects, such as network upgrades, data center migrations, or security implementations.  
  • Strong ability to work across global teams and time zones, with 30-50% of responsibilities involving collaboration with Japan.  
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.  
  • PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.  
  • Ability to work hybrid (NY/NJ) with 2 days onsite per week.
