Safety Technician – Data Center Construction
Location: Barstow, TX
Pay: $42.00–$50.00/hour (DOE)
Per Diem: $1,120/week (provided only for employees who live more than 60 miles from the project site)
Duration: Approximately 6 Months
Schedule: 50–60+ hours per week, Monday–Saturday (Night shift availability required if needed)
Position Overview
Our client, a leading electrical contractor specializing in mission-critical construction, is seeking experienced Safety Technicians to join a fast-paced data center project in Barstow, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for safety professionals who are experienced in electrical construction safety and want to support a large-scale mission-critical project.
Position Summary
The Safety Technician will assist in implementing and maintaining site safety programs while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client requirements. This individual will work closely with project management, superintendents, and field personnel to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and support a strong safety culture throughout the project.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Monitor electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and site safety requirements.
- Assist with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee training.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, inspections, and incident records.
- Participate in incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action plans.
- Verify proper PPE usage and safe work practices across the jobsite.
- Support project leadership with safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
- Assist with client audits, safety meetings, and site inspections.
- Serve as a safety resource for field employees and project teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
- Electrical safety experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-scale commercial electrical construction projects required.
- OSHA 30 Certification (Required)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Required)
- NFPA 70E Certification (Required)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (Required)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety practices.
- Experience with safety documentation, inspections, audits, and reporting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Must be willing to work night shift if required.
Compensation & Travel Benefits
- $42.00–$50.00/hour, based on experience.
- $1,120/week per diem for employees who live more than 60 miles from the project site.
