Job Description Summary
Our client is seeking a BIM Coordinator / VDC Engineer to support a large-scale advanced technology construction project. The role involves thriving in a fast-paced environment, with experience in BIM Coordination for complex projects in high-tech industries (e.g., cleanrooms, laboratories, semiconductor fabs, data centers, solar manufacturing, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals) being highly desirable. This is an on-site position, not remote, with relocation assistance available if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage communication between MEP trade disciplines (Piping, Electrical, Ducting) for routing coordination, integrating trade field and detailing teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues in the detailing process.
- Facilitate and manage coordination meetings in office and on-site, issuing minutes and tracking action items.
- Develop processes for constructability input from trade teams and ensure incorporation into routing plans.
- Assist contractors in resolving conflicts and achieving clash-free routing plans, potentially involving multiple iterations.
- Perform quality, coordination, and clash audits on routing plans, working proactively with contractors.
- Ensure field implementation matches the routing plan and apply lessons learned from clashes.
- Promote productivity improvements, efficient execution, and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years in BIM Design and Coordination, preferably in advanced technology industries.
- Proficient in 3D/BIM software such as Navisworks, Plant 3D, Revit, AutoCAD MEP; experience with laser scan software and clash detection.
- Secondary education in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction (direct experience considered in lieu).
- Ability to provide legal US work authorization; open to US domestic travelers and relocation.
