Role Overview
You will act as the digital design authority for CAD, 3D, and BIM deliverables across power and data-centre projects. The role requires leadership of multidisciplinary digital models, ensuring compliance, constructability, and high-quality information delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the digital design authority for all CAD, 3D, and BIM outputs across power and data-centre projects.
- Develop, coordinate, review, and approve 2D drawings, 3D models, and BIM deliverables in accordance with BIM Execution Plans and project requirements.
- Lead multidisciplinary model coordination across mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines to ensure fully coordinated, clash-free designs.
- Establish, manage, and enforce BIM governance, including compliance with ISO 19650, naming conventions, data structures, and information management processes.
- Manage BIM maturity across all project stages, ensuring appropriate Levels of Detail (LOD) and Levels of Information (LOI).
- Produce and manage layouts and models for data-centre environments, generator enclosures, and balance-of-plant systems.
- Coordinate model federation, clash detection, and issue resolution using BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks.
- Ensure digital models accurately reflect approved engineering designs, interfaces, access requirements, and maintenance strategies.
- Support concept design, optioneering, and spatial planning through effective use of 3D and BIM tools.
- Prepare and manage digital handover deliverables, including as-built models, drawings, and asset data to support O&M manuals and client requirements.
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance of CAD and BIM outputs produced by external designers and subcontractors.
- Support construction and installation activities by resolving model-related issues and supplying accurate digital information to site teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in BIM maturity, automation, standardisation, and digital best practice.
- Undertake additional technical or departmental tasks as required to support wider business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a CAD, 3D, or BIM engineering role within engineering, construction, data-centre, or power- environments.
- Strong proficiency in CAD and Revit, with experience using BIM coordination and clash-detection tools such as Navisworks.
- Solid understanding of BIM principles, information management, and governance aligned with ISO 19650.
- Experience delivering models to defined Levels of Detail (LOD) and Levels of Information (LOI).
- Demonstrated experience producing coordinated models for generator enclosures, data-centre layouts, and balance-of-plant systems.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces while maintaining model integrity under programme pressure.
- Experience supporting construction, installation, and digital handover deliverables.
- Strong organisational skills with a structured, quality-driven approach.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to challenge inputs and uphold digital design standards.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, working collaboratively with engineering, project, and site teams.
