About the Role

We’re looking for a detail‐oriented Cable Technician to join our data center operations team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and maintaining structured cabling that supports mission‐critical network and server infrastructure. If you enjoy hands‐on technical work, thrive in fast‐paced environments, and take pride in clean, well‐organized cabling, this is a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, route, and secure copper and fiber cabling throughout the data center
  • Terminate and test Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic (SM/MM), and coax cables
  • Perform cable labeling, documentation, and pathway management according to industry standards
  • Support rack/stack activities including mounting equipment, running patch cables, and verifying connectivity
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues using tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and cable testers
  • Maintain cable trays, ladder racks, and structured cabling systems
  • Follow data center safety protocols, access procedures, and change management processes
  • Collaborate with network engineers, facilities teams, and project managers to support deployments
  • Ensure all work meets TIA/EIA standards and internal quality guidelines

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience with structured cabling in data centers, telecom rooms, or similar environments
  • Proficiency in terminating and testing copper and fiber cables
  • Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, floor plans, and rack elevations
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean cable management
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  • OSHA 10
  • Clean drug screen and background check

  • Experience with large‐scale data center environments
  • Familiarity with DC power, rack installation, and basic networking concepts
  • Knowledge of codes, fiber types, and cable standards
