Direct Line is looking for data center technicians to install cable and fiber at the data centers located in New Albany, OH*** \n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nInstallation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.\nDeliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.\nProvide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.\nExhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.\nFollow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.\nCollaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.\nReading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work.\nBroad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.\n\nLength of Need (if Applicable): contract to hire (project will be running at least the next 3-5 years possibly longer)\nShift/Hours: Days are always by candidates but need candidates to be open for swing shift, overnights, and weekends when needed. \n\t\nDay shift: 6:00am–6:30pm (Mon–Thurs), 6:00am–2:30pm (Fri). There’s an opportunity for overtime on Fridays, and volunteer hours for weekends.\n \nSwing shift: 10:00am–10:30pm (Mon–Thurs), 10:00am–6:30pm (Fri).\n\nEventually, we’ll also operate:\n• 6:00am–6:30pm (Mon–Fri)\n• 6:30pm–6:00am (Mon–Fri)\n\nScope: OSP/ISP

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\n\nKnowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.\nMust understand customer service.\nClear understanding of job safety requirements.\nBe able to read and understand floor plans.\nShould be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing.\nShould be able to pull all types of low voltage cable.\nShould understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.\nReports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians.\nCapable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running service jobs.\nPossess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable, and perform all type of terminations.\nCapable of working in Data Centers\nShall be able to install ladder racking and seismic bracing both above and under raise floor.\nBasic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.\nRead and understand blueprints and design document\nDress and furcate fiber trunks for splicing\nMaintaining orderly paperwork and running service\nFusion Splice including Ribbon/Single OSP/ISP\nInstall, connect, and decom network equipment\nOperate DSX 5000 tester/OTDR Tester\nProgram testers\nDownload test results to Linkware/Linkware Live\nSave test results, verify, and submit to customer\nCreate mass labels and apply per Portmap\nDifferentiate live cables from decom cable\nCopper testing and troubleshooting\nConduct Service Swaps of live networking devices\nUnderstand "FIM" database and operate scan\nPrimarily walking, standing, and bending for extended periods with some sitting.\nAbility to communicate effectively with verbal, written, visual and listening skills.\nDexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required equipment as well as to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.\nAble to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to pull cables.\nAbility to climb ladders and work on raised platforms

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
