Hiring for Cable Pulling Technicianm

Job Summary

We are seeking a Cable Pulling Technician to install, route, terminate, and test structured cabling systems in commercial buildings and data centers. The ideal candidate should be able to work with copper and fiber optic cables while following safety standards and installation best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull, route, and secure Ethernet (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber optic cables.
  • Install cable trays, conduits, raceways, and ladder racks.
  • Terminate copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Label and organize cables according to project standards.
  • Perform cable testing and verify connectivity using cable testers.
  • Install patch panels, faceplates, keystone jacks, and patch cords.
  • Assist with server rack cabling and cable management.
  • Read and follow cable layout drawings and floor plans.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and documentation.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and use PPE.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.

Required Skills

  • Experience pulling and routing network cables.
  • Knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Ability to terminate RJ45 connectors and patch panels.
  • Familiarity with cable testing equipment.
  • Ability to identify cable types and color codes.
  • Basic understanding of structured cabling standards.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to lift equipment.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of structured cabling experience.
  • Experience working in data centers or commercial construction.
  • Fiber optic termination or splicing experience.
  • Knowledge of cable labeling and documentation.
  • OSHA or other workplace safety training ().

Tools Experience

  • Cable pullers
  • Fish tape
  • Crimping tools
  • Punch-down tools
  • Cable testers
  • Fiber cleaning kits
  • Fusion splicer ()
  • Label printer

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 25–50 kg (55–110 lb), depending on employer requirements.
  • Stand, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Work in construction sites or operational data centers.
