Hiring Now – Cabling Technician (Data Centre Environment)

Location: UB4 (Must live within 1-hour commute)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Type: Full-Time, On-Call Requirement (24/7 rota)

We are urgently seeking a skilled Cabling Technician to join our team within a high-performance data centre environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated engineer with strong cabling experience who is looking for a long-term, secure role with excellent technical exposure.

Key Responsibilities

Install, decommission, and maintain structured cabling systems within the data centre.

Terminate patch panels and patch leads, manage cable routing, and support various patch lead connectivity requirements.

*

Troubleshoot and test structured cabling using Fluke equipment, producing accurate certification reports.

*

Install copper and fibre ICT cabling systems across the facility.

*

Support data centre service operations and adhere to site standards and best practices.

*

Respond to on-call tasks and attend site within 1 hour when required (essential).

Must-Have Requirements

*

Must live within 1 hour of UB4 0JZ due to 24/7 on-call commitments.

*

Proven experience in structured cabling installation and decommissioning.

*

Strong practical skills in copper and fibre cabling systems.

*

Experience using Fluke testers and producing certification documentation.

*

Good understanding of data centre operations and services.

*

Previous experience in a similar cabling or data centre role.
