AAC is seeking a Cloud Storage & Data Engineer to support a federal contracting client. This role is primarily remote within the Greater Dallas area, with occasional onsite support required at local data centers in Richardson, TX.
Position Overview
The Cloud Storage & Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise storage, backup, and recovery environments across a complex, multi-site infrastructure. This individual will work across both on-prem and cloud-based systems, ensuring data availability, security, and performance in alignment with federal compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support internal storage environments across hub and district locations
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise storage and data protection systems
- Design, configure, and integrate backup, recovery, and storage solutions across WAN environments using Commvault
- Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery issues across networking, applications, hardware, and storage appliances
- Provide reporting, analytics, and capacity planning using Commvault tools
- Implement security patches and updates for backup systems in accordance with federal compliance requirements
- Support data replication, backup, and restore processes in collaboration with operations teams
- Perform security-related tasks including vulnerability assessments, patch management, auditing, and documentation
- Apply DISA STIGs to Commvault and related systems
- Provide onsite troubleshooting support at local data centers as needed
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems and Windows Server administration
- Understanding of file and folder permissions within Windows environments
- Experience with data synchronization and multi-site storage architectures
- Knowledge of cloud object storage and hybrid cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with Commvault data protection solutions
- Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN/WAN), databases, and enterprise infrastructure
- Minimum of 6 years of experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with SAN infrastructure, storage-as-a-service, and virtualization technologies
