Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Valley Green, PA
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist to join our Cable Backplane Systems team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA.
SUMMARY:
The CNC Machinist sets up and operates conventional, special purpose and numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic prototype parts by evaluating machinability, designs and builds special tooling to effectively produce parts to specification.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibilities include the operation of the CNC Haas machine, vertical milling station, grinder and other equipment to produce quality, precision, cost-effective machined parts on a production basis with minimal supervision
- Set-up and validate CNC programs utilizing Mastercam software
- Ability to perform setups and use probing to ensure accuracy and quality
- Manufacture quality parts within specification on schedule
- Perform one’s own first part, in-process quality checks, cleaning and deburring as necessary
- Good communication skills
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-year Machine Tool degree or certificate .
- Minimum 3 years CNC experience, preferably in a tool & die environment.
- Minimum 3 years programming experience preferably with Mastercam software.
- Proficiency using solid modeling tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to read specifications, Solid Works familiarity a plus
- Knowledge of measurement equipment, tools, and gauges
- A self-starter who uses initiative and problem identification to find solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain CNC equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
