CNC Machinist/Machine Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Machine Technician to support machining operations, prototype fabrication, equipment setup, and dimensional inspection activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on machining knowledge, experience operating CNC equipment, and a solid understanding of precision measurement and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate and support CNC milling and/or turning equipment

· Perform machine setup, tooling setup, work offsets, and fixture preparation

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications

· Select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for different materials and applications

· Support prototype machining, fabrication, and process development

· Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other metrology equipment

· Verify machined part quality and maintain inspection records

· Troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues

· Support preventive maintenance and shop organization

· Coordinate with engineering teams on manufacturability and machining improvements

· Follow all shop safety and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Experience operating CNC machines and machining equipment

· Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and manufacturing processes

· Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand tolerances/GD&T

· Experience with precision measurement and inspection techniques

· Familiarity with machining materials such as aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and engineering plastics

· Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming concepts

· Strong troubleshooting and hands-on mechanical skills

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Qualifications

· Experience with CAM software

· Experience with manual mills, lathes

· Knowledge of fixture design and tooling selection

· Prototype or low-volume manufacturing experience

· Technical school or machining/manufacturing related background
