Join a physician-led multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, dedicated to a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care. This role will involve working closely within the Minimally Invasive/Robotics surgical team and the colorectal division. As an integral member of the surgical oncology department, you will collaborate with fellow cancer surgeons, including those specialized in surgical oncology, breast, gynecologic, and advanced foregut procedures. This dynamic practice will focus on approximately 75%-85% colorectal surgeries and 15%-25% general surgery cases, emphasizing minimally invasive techniques, robotics, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. You will utilize a range of cutting-edge surgical tools and methods, including robotic, endoscopic, and advanced laparoscopic procedures. While expertise in pelvic floor disorders, manometry, and the management of complex inflammatory bowel disease is , it is not mandatory for the right candidate. Our surgical services department is part of an accredited oncology program, collaborating closely with medical and radiation oncology. Furthermore, this multidisciplinary team is actively pursuing accreditation with the Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), with an expected achievement date in Fall 2026. The region's only Level II Trauma Center, our facility boasts 381 beds and a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, featuring advanced imaging technologies and award-winning clinical services. This full-time position follows a traditional workweek, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 32 hours dedicated to patient interactions, including clinic visits, procedures, and consultations. Additionally, there is a 1:7 shared practice call among the MIS/robotics surgical group, with no unattached ER call and no acute care general surgery duties.

Support: You will have access to a network of over 70 primary care clinics, a Level II Trauma Center, an Emergency Department, da Vinci XI & SI systems, Hospitalist services, Pediatric Hospitalists, ICU, CVICU, NICU, and 24/7 on-site Anesthesia, along with Pediatric Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, and a coalition of independent community partners.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA general surgery program.
  • Board certification from the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS), or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery.
  • Ability to secure Idaho medical licensure and privileges at our facility and other affiliated hospitals as necessary; valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • Experience in open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical techniques for colorectal cancer treatment. Expertise in pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and manometry is desirable.
  • Capability to perform both basic and complex advanced surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques for benign and malignant colorectal conditions.
  • A collaborative leadership style that fosters teamwork within the oncology and surgical programs to uphold accreditation with the American College of General Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
