Commercial Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the client-side team, overseeing commercial strategy, procurement, and cost management on major data centre projects across Europe (Focus on Netherlands & Germany)

This role is integral to ensuring best value, risk management and robust contractual oversight throughout the project lifecycle. The Commercial Manager will partner with project directors, design managers, and construction delivery teams to provide commercial leadership on CSA and MEP.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of large-scale hyperscale and colocation data centre projects across multiple European locations.
• Manage procurement strategies, including tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
• Oversee cost planning, value engineering, and budget control from feasibility through to final account.
• Manage financial reporting, forecasting, and cash flow for senior stakeholders.
• Ensure commercial risks are identified, monitored, and mitigated.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to drive performance and value.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior commercial staff where applicable.
• Collaborate with project management teams to align commercial delivery with programme and technical requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in commercial management/quantity surveying, ideally in data centres, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Demonstrable experience working client-side or within a major consultancy/developer environment.
• Strong knowledge of CSA and MEP packages.
• Proven track record of managing high-value construction contracts across multiple jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with European procurement practices, cost benchmarks, and market supply chains.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
