POSITION OVERVIEW
The Commercial Strategy Associate will support Hanwha Energy USA's corporate-level commercial strategy, corporate demand origination, and strategic partnership development initiatives.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Business Development, this role will drive analytical workstreams including quantitative analysis of projects & market revenue streams, creation of customer proposals & partnership business cases, and manage customer & partnership pipeline development and tracking. This role will also offer the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams across Hanwha's platforms and affiliates.
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, execution-oriented professional who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and can translate strategic direction into actionable work products and deal support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Intelligence & Strategic Analysis
- Build and maintain market intelligence infrastructure including target company tracking, procurement trigger monitoring, and regulatory & policy updates
- Track corporate sustainability commitments, renewable energy procurement trends, and emerging customer segments
Proposal & Business Case Development
- Collaborate on creation of customer proposals for corporate off-takers, including value proposition development, solution design, technical specifications, and commercial terms
- Develop comprehensive business cases for strategic partnerships and new business opportunities, including financial modeling, risk assessment, competitive positioning, and investment recommendations
- Build financial models to evaluate partnership economics, pricing structures, deal returns, and value creation potential
- Synthesize inputs from development, planning, and finance teams to ensure proposals reflect accurate technical and commercial assumptions
- Maintain proposal templates, frameworks, and best practices to improve team efficiency and quality
Corporate Demand Origination & Pipeline Management
- Conduct hypothesis-led research to identify target companies, map key decision-makers, and understand procurement pain points and timelines
- Build, maintain, and monitor qualified pipeline of corporate off-taker opportunities across target segments leveraging CRM systems & pipeline tracking tools
- Prepare customer profiles, pain-point analyses, and briefing materials to support executive engagement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following:
- Energy project development or power marketing
- Management consulting (strategy, energy, infrastructure)
- Investment banking or private equity (energy, infrastructure, utilities focus)
- Corporate strategy or business development at energy and/or infrastructure companies
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent PowerPoint skills with ability to create executive-level presentations with clear structure, compelling narratives, and polished visuals
- Strong written communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise business documents
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Self-starter mentality with intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in analytical work
QUALIFICATIONS
- Exposure to renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas, data centers, or corporate power procurement
- Familiarity with U.S. power and renewable energy markets including energy project economics and offtake structures
- Prior experience supporting proposal development, RFP responses, or business case creation
- Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and workflows to automate research, analysis, or business development processes
COMPENSATION: $80,000 to $110,000 salary
