About the RoleFuzeHR Solutions is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer specializing in Mechanical Commissioning to support mission critical and data center projects nationwide. This role is responsible for commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and verifying the performance of complex mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of building mechanical systems, controls, construction, and operational processes. This position requires a motivated professional who can effectively manage field activities, maintain project documentation, support senior engineering staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful commissioning projects.Payrate $130K
Job Duties
- Perform commissioning activities for mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems and associated controls, primarily within mission critical and data center environments.
- Review system designs and construction documents to ensure alignment with client operational goals and industry standards.
- Assist in developing commissioning plans, procedures, and project schedules.
- Execute commissioning activities throughout all project phases, including design review, construction, startup, testing, and occupancy.
- Attend factory witness testing and document procedures, observations, and results.
- Conduct functional performance testing using specialized instrumentation and diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed field documentation, including test results, deficiencies, observations, and commissioning reports through company templates and digital reporting tools.
- Analyze system performance and provide technical recommendations to resolve operational or performance issues.
- Coordinate field activities with project teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.
- Assist with maintaining commissioning schedules and submitting daily field reports.
- Support and mentor Associate Project Engineers by providing technical guidance and training.
- Respond to client and project team inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
- Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE and/or BCxA commissioning guidelines .
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
- Strong understanding and application of testing and diagnostic instrumentation.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced project environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering .
- Minimum of 2+ years of mission critical project experience in mechanical commissioning, OR
- 4+ years of commissioning, mechanical systems, or controls experience in mission critical or related industrial environments.
- Experience commissioning mission critical facilities is strongly .
- Controls programming or automation experience is a plus.

Schedule & Travel
- Nationwide travel required approximately 50%–75%, depending on project assignments.
- Extended travel periods may be required for certain projects.
