Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $30 to $40 Per Hour BOE
Responsibilities:
- The Communications Technician II will install a work area outlet for floor or wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to company labeling standards).
- The Communications Technician II will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
- Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
- The Communications Technician II performs testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
- The Communications Technician II will identify active voice or data circuits.
- The Communications Technician II will assume responsibility for effective performance of the crew and provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete the project.
- The Communications Technician II will fully complete all company paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
- The Communications Technician II will adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- The Communications Technician II will complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field and demonstrate the ability to supervise others.
- Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools.
- Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- Must know the universal communications codes.
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
Physical Requirements:
- The Communications Technician II must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- The Communications Technician II must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- The Communications Technician II must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
Pay Transparency
The anticipated salary range for this position is $30 to $40 Per Hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
