Job Overview:

The Construction Estimator is an individual possessing experience with estimating project bids in the construction field and reports directly to the Sr. Estimator. Ideally will possess a strong grasp of construction principles, excellent communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, understand estimating concepts, bid structures, and creates estimates independently. They are responsible for performing a variety of tasks including performing take offs, building estimates, and interfacing with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates
  • Analyze labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure alignment on scope and pricing
  • Maintain and update cost databases and historical records
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
  • Monitor project budgets and provide variance analysis as needed
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits when required

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Bid 2 Win or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a federal background check.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Bid 2 Win, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent
