Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our growing team in Denver, Colorado. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects while collaborating closely with preconstruction, operations, and trade partners.

This role plays a critical part in securing new work and ensuring successful project execution through thorough scope analysis, budgeting, and subcontractor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
  • Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and value engineering opportunities
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimates
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors in the Denver market
  • Assist with budget updates throughout preconstruction phases
  • Support handoff meetings to operations teams upon project award

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of estimating experience with a commercial General Contractor (level may vary based on role seniority)
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience with negotiated and hard-bid projects

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in estimating software (Sage, Timberline, OST, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency required)
  • Familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore or CMiC is a plus
