Construction Field Engineer
Industrial & Commercial Projects – Data Centers, Manufacturing Facilities, Semiconductor Plants, and Clean Rooms
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Field Engineer to join our team on large-scale, technically complex industrial and commercial projects. Our projects include world-class data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, semiconductor plants, and clean room environments. The Field Engineer plays a key role in ensuring project execution meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Position Summary:
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly under the Superintendent and serves as a critical member of the field management team. This role requires sound judgment, initiative, and strong communication skills to assist with planning, coordination, and execution of day-to-day field operations. The position is often a stepping stone to Office Engineer or Project Engineer roles and provides exposure to all aspects of large-scale construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Superintendent with day-to-day field management, coordination, and supervision
• Manage and verify all project layout activities including control points, dimensions, and elevations
• Oversee subcontractor and trade partner work to ensure compliance with design documents, specifications, and safety standards
• Review and maintain lift drawings, shop drawings, and field markups
• Track material deliveries, resolve field conflicts, and assist with RFIs and change documentation
• Conduct safety and quality control inspections and participate in site meetings
• Assist in maintaining project schedules, progress reporting, and coordination of critical path activities
• Work closely with project management and engineering teams to support project objectives and deadlines
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1–5 years of experience in construction field engineering, ideally with a general contractor
• Experience working on large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or high-tech projects
• Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Familiarity with layout tools, Total Station, and construction technology platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Revit)
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
