Overview:

Insight Global is supporting a confidential client on a complex, multi-workstream power infrastructure enabling programme and is seeking an experienced NEC4 Construction Manager / Project Supervisor. This is a long term contract position and would require travel around Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.

The programme encompasses a full demolition of a building, construction of a substation facility and supervision of a HV cable between these two new substations and a data centre campus

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as NEC4 Supervisor across all works packages — reviewing and accepting contractor submissions, managing early warnings, and administering compensation events
• Overseeing the full structural demolition of a former commercial building in a highway
• Lead and oversee civil engineering construction activities across a major new substation construction programme
• Coordinate groundworks, highways interfaces, road openings, street works, and all traffic management requirements associated with a long-route underground cable installation
• Manage interface with NGET across two substation connections
• Manage civil and specialist contractors across all workstreams, ensuring delivery to programme, quality standards, and industry safety regulations
• Enforce and support compliance with CDM Regulations, acting as the Client's representative across all concurrent demolition and construction scopes
• Review civil and MEP drawings, method statements, and RAMS for accuracy and safety across all works packages
• Implement daily safe work processes — actively putting teams to work safely through briefings, permits, and oversight across multiple active sites
• Engage with NGET, specialist designers, utility representatives, and highways authorities as required across both cable route programmes
• Produce consolidated programme reporting to the Head of Construction
• Support commissioning, system certification, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) at the data centre campus
• Recruit and manage project support staff and specialist consultants as required

Experience:

• Construction Management experience- spanning civil, demolition and HV electrical infrastructure
• Proven experience as NEC4, NEC3 or Contract Administrator
• Direct experience of 132 kV or above HV cable installation
• Experience in Demolition projects
• Background in Substations, Power networks or Heavy Civil/Utility Infrastructure
• Proven experience with highways interfaces
• Hands-on experience with groundworks, demolition, foundations, drainage, ducting or cable route preparation
• Full UK Drivers License
