About the job

One of the USA’s largest data center operators is searching for a Data Center Construction Manager in Dallas, TX. The company operates over 70 data center sites in 40 areas across the country. In DFW, the company is building a 25B multi-building, liquid-cooled major data center. In this role, the successful individual will manage the delivery of the entire project, space, power, network connectivity, physical security, and containment. Working closely with the design and construction team. Overseeing the vendors building out the data center.

The Role

The CM will work at the project site with oversight of all vendors. Responsible for driving the schedule to a successful completion. Full autonomy of day-to-day operations and decisions.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage the day-to-day activities that impact the delivery of the company’s critical facilities construction projects.
  • Manage multi-phased projects to achieve schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage RFP’s in coordination with the Procurement Team.
  • Deliver Built to Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value-engineering.
  • Provide appropriate communication with the project team to reduce constraints between Owner, Design Team, and Contractors
  • Ability to focus on evolving designs and changes that A.I. and future developments bring to market.
  • Drive Company Standards uniformly with Project Delivery by all project participants on all projects.
  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests
  • Work in conjunction with the Commissioning Manager to ensure projects are started up and commissioned as per the company's capacity online requirements and standards.

  • Qualifications

    • Experience:
    • 7+ years of Project Management experience required
    • Data center project experience on the GC side or owner side is required
    • Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team
    • Skills:
    • Ability to read/interpret construction documents
    • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
    • Excellent project organizational skills
    • Impressive leadership skills with the desire to teach, mentor, and develop a team
    • Business acumen and relationship-building skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization
