OVERVIEW:
SILTT is seeking a Construction Manager-as-Agent (CMa) to represent the Owner on complex construction projects in varied and often remote locations worldwide. The ideal candidate brings strong field experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to keep safety, quality, and schedule on track.
Youll serve as the Owners on-site representative providing clear direction, verifying progress, and ensuring work meets contractual and performance standards. Builders who can communicate and lead through field awareness will thrive in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Construction Manager-as-Agent (CMa), you will serve as the Owners on-site representative and trusted advisor across all aspects of facility construction and management. You will use your field experience and professional judgment to provide proactive oversight, coordination, and risk management on behalf of the Owner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- CMa: Lead day-to-day site activities, serving as the primary liaison between the Contractor, Designer of Record, and other stakeholders. Independently evaluate field conditions and provide recommendations that inform SILTT Project Manager decision-making. Direct the flow of project information, verify compliance with the Contract Documents, and advise the SILTT Project Manager on constructability and performance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Develop concise, analytical reports that translate field observations into actionable insights. Oversee project information systems to ensure documentation is accurate, current, and supports contractual enforcement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Lead coordination among the Contractor, Designer, and other project stakeholders to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and quality objectives. Drive timely resolution of field issues through structured communication, documentation, and escalation when required.
- Risk Management: Lead identification and mitigation planning for field risks, including potential cost and schedule impacts. Develop proactive strategies to minimize exposure and escalate issues requiring management or design team input.
- Schedule Management: Verify the Contractors reported progress through direct field observation. Track milestones, identify variances, and provide early, data-driven feedback to support recovery actions. Advise project management on schedule integrity and Contractor performance.
- Quality Control: Lead independent quality assurance oversight of materials, workmanship, and installations to confirm compliance with contract specifications and industry standards. Verify the effectiveness of the Contractors quality control program and ensure corrective actions are tracked and closed promptly.
- Team Leadership: Maintain a visible, professional presence in the field to promote accountability, safety, and quality. Influence the activities of construction teams, subcontractors, and consultants to drive coordinated, high-performance execution aligned with project objectives.
- Site Safety: Evaluate and verify the Contractors safety management practices to ensure effective implementation on site. Confirm that safety plans, training, and daily activities meet regulatory and contractual requirements. Document safety observations, near misses, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement and accountability.
- Environmental Compliance: Provide oversight and technical advice on environmental permit conditions, impact mitigation measures, and local regulatory requirements. Monitor field activities for compliance and support corrective action planning when deviations occur.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically requires 68 years of progressive experience in construction management or related field oversight.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, contract administration processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Exceptional candidates with strong field or engineering backgrounds and demonstrated leadership potential may also be considered.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field ; equivalent field experience accepted.
- Experience serving as a CMa on large, complex, or technically challenging construction projects.
- Certification as a CSI Construction Document Technologist (CDT) or similar credential demonstrating document control proficiency.
- Proficiency with construction management software, such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Procore, or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with collaborative work environments, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or other shared cloud-based systems.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong background in schedule, cost, and risk management.
- Ability to interpret and enforce contract requirements through field verification and documentation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, designers, and Owner representatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail, commitment to quality, and sound professional judgment in field conditions.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
This role requires being onsite with extended stays (6-18 months) in remote locations worldwide. Flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and a passion for environmental conservation are essential qualities for success in this role.
