Location: Northern Virginia (Fully Onsite) Schedule: Full-time, starting at 6:00 AM daily Travel: Primarily contained to a single 10-building campus; occasional travel to external campuses as needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking a field-driven Construction Manager with a strong trades background to lead internal and subcontractor crews on high-stakes data center projects. This isn't just a desk job; we need a "glorified superintendent" who can wear multiple hats—from high-level project coordination to troubleshooting minor facility issues. You will oversee scopes ranging from minor BMS upgrades to major multidisciplinary renovations in live mission-critical environments.

Top Required Skills

  • Mission Critical MEP: Deep expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing within data centers, hospitals, or large-scale industrial facilities.
  • Trades Expertise: Ideally a former tradesman (e.g., Plumbing degree/background) with specialized experience in fire suppression systems.
  • Live Environment Mastery: Proven ability to run crews and manage LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures in active, sensitive environments.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read one-line diagrams, P&ID/BMS controls, and trace electrical power flow.

Core Responsibilities

  • Field Leadership: Manage onsite internal teams and subcontractors; provide technical direction for daily construction activities.
  • Safety Stewardship: Maintain a zero-incident environment and champion a proactive safety culture (OSHA 30 ).
  • Project Lifecycle Support: Assist project management with planning, scheduling, site logistics, as-built documentation, and closeout.
  • BMS/EPMS Oversight: Oversee the construction, integration, and commissioning of critical monitoring and control systems.
  • Technical Coordination: Interpret MOPs (Methods of Procedure), manage RFIs, and coordinate client submittals.
  • Facility Maintenance: Act as a "full maintenance" lead for the campus, ensuring everything from major scopes to minor facility fixes are addressed.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Attend site visits with clients and subcontractors; support estimating teams with RFQs and bid submittals.

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of field management in Mission Critical/Data Center environments.
  • Background: Strong preference for candidates who worked up through the trades into management.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30 Certificate is highly .
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and construction management software.
  • Flexibility: Must be comfortable with an early 6:00 AM start and a 100% onsite presence.
