Job Summary

As the Construction Manager I, II, III, you will be responsible for leading construction crews, coordinating project execution, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will oversee field operations, manage resources, and maintain compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Your customers include telecommunications clients, project stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal Congruex teams, and you will contribute to project success through leadership, operational excellence, and quality execution.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to:)

  • Lead and manage construction crews, coordinating daily field operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, customer communication, and workforce planning with Project Managers and internal teams.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Foremen and field personnel, supporting employee development, hiring, and performance management.
  • Monitor project progress, approve production reports, As-Builts, timesheets, invoices, and closeout documentation while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and local regulations.
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

Experience

  • Experience managing construction crews within telecommunications, utility, or heavy civil construction.
  • Experience with aerial and underground construction operations, project scheduling, budgeting, and field supervision.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills with the ability to supervise multiple crews and projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, contracts, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software, and construction management systems.
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Experience with HCSS HeavyBid or similar construction management software.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and larger field operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions around heavy equipment and active construction sites.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, and other applicable safety equipment.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, as applicable.

The distinction between Construction Manager I, II, and III is based on the individual's experience, technical expertise, leadership capabilities, project complexity, project size, and span of control.
