Construction Project Manager
Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite – 5 days per week, 9 hours per day)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, on-site at the customer campus
Position Summary
This role is responsible for the coordination, management, and execution of data center services through a team of dedicated technicians performing on-site activities. The position ensures continuous technician availability to support customer tickets, meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements. The role focuses on operational excellence, safety, and team leadership in a dynamic data center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Communication
- Maintain consistent communication with the customer, fostering a relationship built on trust and transparency.
- Deliver detailed, well-written reports to the customer at agreed intervals.
Internal Collaboration
- Participate in internal coordination and progress meetings, providing clear updates and observations.
- Identify and integrate process improvements within on-site operations.
Leadership and Supervision
- Manage technician assignments, workforce availability, and on-site scheduling.
- Supervise and oversee third-party vendors and on-site contractors.
- Address conflicts professionally and promptly.
- Conduct daily visual inspections to ensure safety, performance, and cleanliness standards are met.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to OHS frameworks and complete regular safety audits (self and third-party).
- Prepare site-specific risk assessments and report any safety or facility-related issues.
- Ensure appropriate PPE usage at all times and enforce safety protocols.
- Report all OHS incidents and near misses immediately.
- Intervene in unsafe behaviors by third-party workers and escalate as required.
Project Execution
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project activities to ensure adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Enforce implementation schedules and technical guidelines to maintain quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualifications.
- Extensive practical, hands-on experience in data center operations.
- Proven project management experience with demonstrated success in meeting cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of guiding customers and team members.
- Commitment to continuous learning of systems, processes, and customer operations.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on data center experience (transport experience ).
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience leading on-site or technical teams.
Training and Certifications
Personnel must have valid and current certifications prior to starting work, including:
- OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour General Industry Certifications
- CPR / First Aid
- Ergonomics
- Any required refresher or site-specific safety training
Suppliers are responsible for ensuring all personnel maintain required certifications, complete 40 hours of training per 12-month period, and comply with all recordkeeping and payment requirements.
Additional Information
- Personnel must be in-market and present on-site 5 days per week.
- Suppliers are responsible for compensable travel time, living expenses within the base market, and administrative time management.
- Personnel must be equipped with appropriate tools including a laptop, smartphone with Wi-Fi tethering, and any additional equipment required for on-site duties.
- Accurate timekeeping and compliance with all reporting requirements are mandatory.
