A leading engineering and construction organization is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to provide field leadership for Mechanical/HVAC construction activities.

The Construction Superintendent will have field-level responsibility for coordinating and supervising construction activities within the assigned area. This position will provide direction to contractors, monitor daily progress, coordinate multiple work fronts, and work closely with project management, engineering, quality, and safety teams to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and schedule.

  • Lead day-to-day field execution of Mechanical/HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection construction activities.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, supervisors, and craft personnel across multiple active work fronts.
  • Monitor construction progress, manpower, productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Conduct daily field inspections to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, HSE/Safety, Project Controls, and other project teams to resolve field issues and technical questions.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, coordination meetings, and contractor discussions.
  • Ensure construction activities follow approved drawings, specifications, schedules, codes, standards, and project procedures.
  • Review contractor manpower and productivity and compare actual performance against project plans and schedules.
  • Verify contractor progress and installed quantities to support progress reporting and payment evaluations.
  • Provide input for weekly and monthly project reporting, including schedule forecasts, constraints, and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate interfaces between Mechanical/HVAC and other construction disciplines to prevent conflicts and maintain workflow.
  • Identify potential schedule, quality, safety, and coordination issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors, project management, engineering personnel, client representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable HSE requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 20+ years of construction experience, including significant field leadership responsibility on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, data center, or similarly complex construction projects.
  • Extensive experience in Mechanical/HVAC construction and field execution.
  • Experience supervising and coordinating multiple subcontractors and high-volume construction work fronts.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems and their installation within active construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of applicable construction codes, standards, specifications, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction sequencing, field coordination, and multi-discipline interface management.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering complex construction scopes safely, with high quality and in accordance with project schedules.
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and contractor-management abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is . Equivalent progressive site-based construction experience in supervisory or management positions will be considered.
  • Professional certification in Construction Management, Site Supervision, or a related field is .
  • Formal training or certification in advanced HSE/Safety or Quality Leadership is .
