Their teams are at the forefront of delivering resilient, always-on services in an industry where uptime and reliability are everything.\n\nDue to an increase in workload, they are now hiring for 3 Control Room Operators for each of their campus in London, Manchester & Slough.\n\nThe Role \n We are seeking a Control Room Operator to join our mission-critical data centre operations team.

This role is central to maintaining uptime, monitoring critical systems, and responding to incidents in a high-availability environment. The successful candidate will work in a 24/7 control room environment, ensuring the smooth operation of electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure systems that support our data centre.\n\nKey Responsibilities \n Monitoring & Operations\n\nMonitor all Building Management Systems (BMS), Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM), and security platforms.\nTrack real-time performance of power, cooling, fire suppression, and network systems.\nEscalate alarms and anomalies according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).\n Incident & Emergency Response\n\nAct as the first point of contact for incidents and outages.\nCoordinate communication between on-site engineers, external vendors, and management.\nExecute and document emergency procedures in line with SLA/OLA requirements.\n Reporting & Documentation\n\nMaintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and escalation records.\nSupport audit and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, ISO 22301, Uptime Tier Standards).\nProvide shift handover briefings to ensure continuity of operations.\nCompliance & Safety\n\nEnsure adherence to data centre security and access control procedures.\nFollow HSE and risk management guidelines during incidents.\nSupport testing and drills for fire, power failure, and emergency evacuation.\n\nSkills & Qualifications \n Essential:\n\nExperience in a control room, NOC, SOC, or critical facilities monitoring environment (preferably in data centres, telecoms, or utilities).\nKnowledge of BMS, DCIM, SCADA or similar monitoring platforms.\nStrong technical awareness of HVAC, UPS, generators, fire systems, and networking fundamentals.\nExcellent communication skills for incident management and escalation.\nAbility to work rotating 24/7 shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).\n Desirable:\n\nCertifications: CompTIA Server+, CCNA, or equivalent facilities/technical qualifications.\nFamiliarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards, ISO 27001, or ITIL frameworks.\nPrevious experience in mission-critical industries (finance, defence, healthcare, telecoms)
