Control Systems Engineer | Ogden, UT

Join a world-class engineering team supporting the U.S. Air Force Sentinel Program — one of the nation’s most vital defense initiatives. As a Control Systems Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing advanced systems that uphold the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex engineering solutions for secure and mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control systems for facility utilities, including HVAC, lighting, and power systems, in compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements.

• Create and review P&IDs, logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, and instrument data sheets using AutoCAD.

• Develop instrument indexes and I/O lists utilizing automated tools and vendor data.

• Prepare detailed specifications and procurement documentation using SpecsIntact.

• Review and evaluate vendor submittals and incorporate feedback into final designs.

• Coordinate with systems engineers, project teams, and government stakeholders to ensure all security and performance requirements are achieved.

• Ensure design deliverables meet quality, safety, and schedule objectives.

• Support cybersecurity and classified facility design requirements as applicable.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship (required due to facility security requirements).

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

• Must have a Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID (indicated by a star symbol).

• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (including testing for marijuana use).

Education & Experience:

Option 1: High School Diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of related engineering experience.

Option 2: Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and 5+ years of related experience.

• Minimum 1+ years of experience preparing drawings, calculations, and specifications for systems in nuclear, industrial process, data center, or complex building environments.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and office automation tools.

• Strong understanding of control systems design principles, codes, and standards.

• Ability to develop and review technical drawings, data sheets, and specifications.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Experience with Bechtel standards, ISO-9000 programs, and Unified Facilities Criteria.

• Familiarity with SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch, and SpecsIntact.

• Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat specifications.

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles in control system design.

• Experience designing secure facilities (SCIF, TEMPEST, ICD-705).

• Prior experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) or other government agencies.

• Ability to interpret and produce mechanical or process engineering drawings and calculations.

Pay

$100,000–$130,000 per year, depending on experience

Schedule

Full-time | Monday–Friday | Day shift (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
