We are seeking a dynamic Controller to lead the day-to-day operations of our accounting department at our Avon, NY headquarters. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial planning and analysis, treasury management, and accounting systems. You will also supervise and develop a team, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate closely with operations to drive financial and business performance.

Howlett Farms is a fifth-, family-owned agricultural enterprise rooted in Upstate New York. With over 3,000 acres of farmland, a state-of-the-art grain elevator, a dairy feed mill, and a robust trucking and logistics operation, we are one of the most diversified and vertically integrated agribusinesses in the region.

Requirements:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations of the accounting department
• Supervise and mentor a team of 5 staff
• Drive financial planning and analysis
• Oversee IT functions related to accounting systems
• Manage treasury operations
• Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures
• Partner with operations to optimize financial systems and reporting

Knowledge:

• Accounting degree, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Merchant Ag, Power Automate, or Power BI (desired, but not required)
• Agricultural background or familiarity with commodity markets (a plus)
