As a Corporate Relationship Advisor, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining partnerships with various stakeholders that support our mission to advance humanity's understanding of the Universe. The lab's commitment to expansion and quality in scientific capabilities fosters an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive. With a focus on international partnerships and community-driven initiatives, your role will be essential in bridging connections with industry leaders, funding agencies, and academic institutions, all of which contribute to groundbreaking advancements in astrophysics, including dark energy and dark matter research. The ideal candidate will have experience in relationship management and a passion for scientific discovery, enabling us to further enhance our impact in the field and support the innovative research conducted across our observatories located in Arizona, Hawai'i, and Chile, all while honoring the cultural significance of these sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders and other organizations to enhance NSF NOIRLab capabilities.
  • Identify potential collaboration opportunities to promote scientific advancements and innovative programs in astrophysics.
  • Coordinate and organize outreach efforts to engage corporate partners and researchers in joint initiatives.
  • Create proposals and presentations to effectively communicate NSF NOIRLab's mission, goals, and projects to potential partners.
  • Monitor trends and changes in the research landscape to inform relationship management strategies.
  • Foster relationships with funding agencies to align NSF NOIRLab’s objectives with potential financial support.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure effective communication and execution of partnership objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Management, Public Relations, or a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relationship management, business development, or relevant fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Experience in the research or scientific community, ideally within astronomy or astrophysics.
  • Proven track record in developing strategic partnerships and managing projects effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess partnership opportunities and impact on organizational goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
