Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPowerstaff is seeking an experienced Cost Manager /Quantity Surveyor to join an international cost management consultancy delivering a major $1B hyperscale data center project in Iowa.
This is a key site-based position working client-side within a high-performing commercial team on one of the most high-profile mission-critical builds in the region.
We are looking for professionals with strong commercial awareness and proven experience on large-scale construction projects.
The Role:
You will be responsible for cost planning, forecasting, reporting and financial control throughout project delivery. Working closely with project leadership, consultants and trade partners, you will ensure accurate cost management, change evaluation and commercial oversight across the full construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost planning, estimating and budget management
- Managing change orders, variations & financial reporting
- Conducting cost analysis and risk assessments
- Contract administration support and progress valuations
- Liaising with client teams, design consultants and contractors
- Monitoring schedule, cost trends and project performance
- Preparing monthly reports and presenting financial insights
- Supporting procurement reviews and cost benchmarking
Requirements:
- 4+ years' post-degree cost management experience
- Experience on large-scale construction projects (data centers a plus)
- Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
- Start ASAP - January ideally
- AACE certification highly regarded (CCP, CEP, or PSP)
- MRICS/Candidates toward RICS welcome, especially with international experience
- Proficiency in cost reporting, estimating & budget management
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical ability & attention to detail
- Willingness to relocate and work on-site - no FIFO/per diem
- Must be US or Green Card holder (no sponsorship/transfer)
