We are looking for Critical Environments Technicians to support a Data Center.
Multiple Shifts available
Pay rates will range from $45-$55/hr based on qualifications and experience
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Facility Engineers to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical infrastructure systems in a high-availability data center environment. This role encompasses expertise in UPS systems, diesel generators, centrifugal chillers, HVAC systems, and mechanical components such as pumps and motors. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician with strong diagnostic capabilities, a commitment to safety, and a proactive approach to system reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Power Systems & UPS
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on UPS systems, with emphasis on Schneider Electric and Delta platforms.
- Conduct inspections, capacity testing, and Battery Monitoring System (BMS) baseline resets for lithium-ion battery systems.
- Analyze BMS data (voltage, current, temperature, resistance) to identify and resolve performance issues.
- Execute battery replacements and disposal procedures per global standards.
Diesel Generators
- Maintain and repair diesel generators, including high-horsepower units (500 kW+), preferably Cummins.
- Conduct monthly inspections, troubleshoot alarms, and verify fuel delivery and spill kit staging.
- Use OEM diagnostics and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
HVAC Systems
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems including adiabatic air handlers, CDUs, split systems, VAVs, fan power boxes, exhaust fans, CRACs, and CAHUs.
- Perform diagnostics, inspections, and condition assessments using Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Ensure HVAC systems meet operational and safety standards.
Centrifugal Chillers
- Maintain and repair centrifugal chillers, with emphasis on Trane systems.
- Conduct eddy current testing, monitor refrigerant levels, and track evaporator approach temperatures.
- Document irregularities and escalate issues per global maintenance protocols.
Pumps & Motors
- Perform diagnostics and maintenance on sump, centrifugal, and submersible pumps, as well as motor systems.
- Inspect bearings, perform IR scans, and apply run-to-fail (R2F) strategies where appropriate.
- Support Fin Fan unit operations and mechanical system reliability.
Compliance, Documentation & Collaboration
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and internal safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records in CMMS and change management systems using designated task codes.
- Collaborate with CE Managers and cross-functional teams to support infrastructure reliability and continuous improvement.
- Participate in technician hiring processes and ongoing training programs.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in critical infrastructure environments (e.g., data centers, hospitals, refineries, pharma, manufacturing).
- Hands-on experience with UPS systems, diesel generators, HVAC, chillers, and mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical diagnostics, fluid dynamics, heat exchange, and vibration analysis.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, system schematics, and OEM documentation.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately.
- OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Schneider Electric, Delta, Trane, and Cummins platforms.
- Familiarity with BAS, EPMS, and CMMS systems.
- Completion of relevant technical certifications or manufacturer training.
- Qualified Electrical Worker designation.
- Certification in mechanical or electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulatory compliance.
