Critical Facilities Technician
Location: New Carlisle, IN
Pay: $25 - $28/hr.
Type: 6-month contract - Potential to Hire!
A global tech company is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join their team in New Carlisle, IN. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a leading company that offers comprehensive benefits, career advancement, and stability.
As a Critical Facilities Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of critical data center infrastructure. You'll be responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational management of essential facility systems.
Responsibilities:

Perform routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and computer room air handlers (CRAHs).

Monitor and manage building monitoring systems (BMS) to ensure optimal plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Work closely with on-site management, shift technicians, and vendors to ensure all work adheres to established practices and procedures.

Assist in coordinating projects with IT managers and other business leaders, focusing on capacity management and operational optimization.

Support the design and build-out of new critical facilities and contribute to projects aimed at increasing the efficiency of existing facilities.

Manage and maintain accurate asset and inventory records for critical facility equipment.

Deliver high-quality service and ensure all operational demands are met.
Requirements:

Associate's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree with relevant experience.

0-2 years of relevant work experience in a critical facilities or data center environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, as well as low-voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
