Critical Facilities Technician

Location: New Carlisle, IN

Pay: $25 - $28/hr.

Type: 6-month contract - Potential to Hire!

A global tech company is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join their team in New Carlisle, IN. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a leading company that offers comprehensive benefits, career advancement, and stability.

As a Critical Facilities Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of critical data center infrastructure. You'll be responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational management of essential facility systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and computer room air handlers (CRAHs).

• Monitor and manage building monitoring systems (BMS) to ensure optimal plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

• Work closely with on-site management, shift technicians, and vendors to ensure all work adheres to established practices and procedures.

• Assist in coordinating projects with IT managers and other business leaders, focusing on capacity management and operational optimization.

• Support the design and build-out of new critical facilities and contribute to projects aimed at increasing the efficiency of existing facilities.

• Manage and maintain accurate asset and inventory records for critical facility equipment.

• Deliver high-quality service and ensure all operational demands are met.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree with relevant experience.

• 0-2 years of relevant work experience in a critical facilities or data center environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a complex and fast-paced environment.

• Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, as well as low-voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
