Critical Facilities Technician (Level 1 & 2) - Hyperscale Data Center

LVLS Integration is hiring Critical Facilities Technicians for a hyperscale data center client in Ellendale, North Dakota. This is a hands-on role keeping mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems running at better than 99.999% uptime. We are hiring at two levels based on experience.

Location: On-site, Ellendale, ND (Relocation assistance available)
Pay: $43.78 – $47.38/hr
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 6:00am – 6:00pm, 2-2-3 rotation (2 on, 2 off, 3 on)

What You'll Do

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain critical facility systems and respond to abnormal conditions
  • Perform planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
  • Conduct site rounds and inspections of HVAC, electrical distribution, and mechanical rooms
  • Respond to emergencies, outages, and air quality issues; escalate through event monitoring systems
  • Create, track, and close work orders and verify completion
  • Oversee and monitor third-party contractors, vendors, and carriers working on site
  • Support white space and IT infrastructure: install network hardware, run patch cables, verify and test cable paths
  • Act as an operational contact for customers, vendors, and carriers on colocation and connectivity services
  • Support remote points-of-presence as needed

Equipment You'll Work On

Generators, switchgear, transformers, feeders, UPS systems, ATS/STS, PDUs/PMMs, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, CRAC units, pumps, motors, VFDs, chemical treatment systems, and building automation systems.

Level 1 Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in data center critical equipment or building systems operation and maintenance
  • High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years in electrical, refrigeration, and/or HVAC (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills

Level 2 Requirements

  • 5+ years of directly related experience operating, installing, and maintaining data center critical equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and controls
  • High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years in electrical, refrigeration, and/or HVAC (or equivalent)
  • Experience with preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance in a mission-critical environment

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs; climb ladders and stairs; stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and move efficiently through the facility
  • Good dexterity and clear vision (corrected OK) for detailed work while wearing safety glasses
  • Able to distinguish color-coded labels, signs, and cables
  • Work in varying indoor temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, and high-noise areas with hearing protection
  • Valid driver's license

Schedule Notes

This is a 24/7 facility. Nights, weekends, overtime, and schedule changes may be required depending on site needs.
