Data Center Cabling Technician – Georgetown, TX

Peak Systems is a trusted provider of cutting-edge data center solutions, delivering reliable and scalable infrastructure to support our clients' critical operations. We are seeking experienced Cabling Technicians to join our team and play a key role in ensuring organized, efficient, and high-quality cabling within our data centers.

Location: Georgetown, TX 78628
Hourly Rate: $35+ Based on Experience
Start Date: ASAP upon completion of prerequisites
Duration: 2–3 months (possible extension)

Position Overview

As a Data Center Cabling Technician, your primary responsibility will be to execute precise cable installations and management to maintain optimal performance and reliability. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cable Management: Route, organize, and label data and power cables to ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment in compliance with industry standards.
  • Rack Integration: Assist with server rack roll-ins and secure equipment placement for proper alignment and stability when needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cabling layouts, labeling, and inventory.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all data center safety protocols, including proper handling of equipment and PPE usage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and vendors to support operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–3+ years in structured cabling, data center operations, or IT hardware installation.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in cable routing, labeling, and termination.
    • Familiarity with Ethernet standards and transceiver compatibility.
    • Understanding of data center infrastructure (power distribution, cooling).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Data Center Technician, or equivalent; OSHA 10 or similar safety training.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
