Geronimo Power is expanding its development strategy to include integrated energy parks that co-locate renewable energy , energy storage, transmission infrastructure, and large-scale data center facilities. These developments are designed to support the rapidly growing power demand from cloud computing, AI infrastructure, and hyperscale data centers.

What We're Looking For

Geronimo Power is seeking an to join its Utility Scale Development team for Summer 2026. This is designed for students interested in renewable energy development, large-scale infrastructure projects, and data center construction. The will gain exposure to how renewable energy projects are designed and developed to power major industrial users such as hyperscale data centers.

The role provides hands-on exposure to early-stage infrastructure planning including power delivery, transmission interconnection, site layout planning, and the infrastructure needs required to support high-load data center campuses.

What You'll Do

  • Work alongside the Development team to support the planning and development of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects
  • Assist in the planning of integrated energy park developments that include renewable , substations, transmission infrastructure, and potential co-located data centers
  • Participate in early-stage infrastructure planning including substation sizing, transmission access, and high-voltage interconnection
  • Support site feasibility studies evaluating land, topography, grid access, and constructability for energy park and data center developments
  • Research infrastructure requirements for hyperscale data centers including power demand, cooling needs, fiber connectivity, and water availability
  • Assist with preliminary site layout reviews including placement of assets, substations, and large-load facilities
  • Work with engineering and development teams to review technical reports such as environmental studies, transmission studies, and engineering assessments
  • Support preparation of interconnection applications and coordination with grid operators and utilities
  • Conduct research on energy supply strategies for data centers including co-located renewable and energy storage
  • Assist with market research on the rapidly growing AI and cloud data center sector and its energy infrastructure requirements
  • Coordinate internally with development, engineering, transmission, and commercial teams
  • Complete a research project focused on a topic such as renewable-powered data centers, grid infrastructure, or energy park design and present findings to the team

What You'll Need

  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, construction management, environmental science, energy systems, economics, business, or a related field
  • Interest in large-scale infrastructure development, renewable energy, or data center construction
  • Basic understanding of engineering, construction, or energy systems concepts is
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
