Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST)

Pay Rate: $60 to $75 per hour

Job Description Justification:

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise or government datacenter environments. The selected candidate will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical infrastructure systems for Orange County's IT operations. This position offers a hybrid work setup, requiring both remote and onsite support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Configure, review, and troubleshoot issues related to:
• Internet and connectivity services
• Storage Area Networks (SAN)
• Network Attached Storage (NAS)
• ExaGrid Appliances
• Veeam Backup & Replication Software
• Perform configuration changes and scheduled maintenance to minimize production impact.
• Provide onsite support as required (minimum of 4 hours per onsite visit).
• Deliver remote support as needed, billed in 15-minute increments.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to document scope, technical requirements, and estimated effort for each task or project.
• Ensure timely completion of all assigned work requests and confirm completion with the customer.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in datacenter operations, infrastructure support, and network management.
• Proven experience working within government or large enterprise IT environments.
• Strong technical expertise in:
• Cisco UC/VoIP/CORE (voice and network management)
• Fortinet and Sophos (firewall and network security)
• Tanium (endpoint management and security)
• NICHE or similar critical enterprise applications
• SAN/NAS, ExaGrid, and Veeam backup solutions
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or Veeam VMCE.
• Prior experience supporting government datacenter operations.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management practices.

Work Conditions

• Standard business hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Work outside business hours will be billed at 1.5× the regular rate.
• Hybrid arrangement: Remote work with onsite support in Goshen, NY as required (minimum 4 hours per onsite visit).
